Healthy Eating

We have a three-week rolling menu prepared by our food suppliers the body kitchen Mila meals. As part of our all-inclusive approach, we provide a full range of meals, snacks and drinks for your child during the day at our nursery.

A typical day will include breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and tea.

We believe that eating healthy is extremely important in the development of young children. Our menus are planned to minimise sugary foods, fatty foods or foods containing additives and are full of nutritionally well-balanced meals, to influence and encourage enjoyment of a wide range of foods. Meals will be delivered daily from the body kitchen. The three week menu’s are displayed outside the nursery office, and via our nursery app,

As part of our initial and on-going care arrangements we take specific note of a wide range of dietary needs and preferences.

Allergies

We take dietary requirements very seriously at Little Acres Nursery. Our traffic light system ensures that children do not eat anything they shouldn’t:

Green plates – I can eat everything

Yellow plates – Mild allergy or preference such as vegetarian or halal

Red plates – Severe allergy, cannot eat certain foods.

Red plates are accompanied by a staff member with a red apron who will ensure that the child only eats the food they are given on the red plate, they are responsible for that child until mealtime is over and all food is cleared away. No food waste goes into the bins in the rooms.
